Who We Are

A Diverse and Inclusive Community
KWAC is proudly an Aboriginal, community-led not-for-profit organisation established in 1979 to support local Aboriginal people to achieve social, cultural and economic empowerment.
The name Waringarri, from the Miriwoong language, means “a group of people coming together”, reflecting our purpose to bring people together through Culture and Lore.
Our work spans school engagement, employment pathways, healing and wellbeing, cultural preservation, justice reinvestment and safe community spaces. All Board members are local Aboriginal people, and our programs are delivered by 95% Aboriginal staff with deep local knowledge and lived experience.
Guided by Aboriginal leadership and decision-making, KWAC provides culturally safe, community informed programs that strengthen families, grow local capability, and ensure Aboriginal people lead solutions for their own futures.

Community Programs
