Kununurra Youth Night Space

Kununurra Youth Night Space (KYNS)

The KYNS is a community-led model designed to provide a safe, welcoming and culturally safe place for young people after hours. Developed through an extensive co-design process led by local Aboriginal organisations, community members, young people, Elders and government partners, the model responds to an identified gap in after-hours support for children and young people.

The KYNS will offer a voluntary, supportive environment where young people can access food, activities, trusted adults, transport and connections to the supports they need. Grounded in culture, relationships and community leadership, KYNS aims to improve the safety and wellbeing of young people while strengthening pathways to family, education, health and other services.

The initiative reflects Kununurra’s commitment to community-led solutions that support young people to thrive.

The KYNS is supported in partnership with Kimberley Juvenile Justice Services (KJJS) and the Department of Justice.
