Human Resources Manager
Are you an experienced Human Resources professional who can provide both strategic leadership and practical support within a community-led organisation?
KWAC is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee our HR function and support a positive, effective and culturally safe workplace.
Working closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Management team, the Human Resources Manager will provide advice and leadership across workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, workplace investigations, organisational change, performance and development, compliance and employee wellbeing.
An important part of the role will be leading the development, review and coordination of organisational policies and procedures, working with management to ensure they are practical, current and reflect the organisation’s requirements.
The role will also supervise and support the Human Resources Coordinator and work alongside managers to ensure HR matters are handled fairly, consistently and with professionalism and discretion.
This position is based in Kununurra, classified at SCHADS Award Level 6 and offered for six months, with the possibility of extension. The role will also access a remote housing allowance of $250 per fortnight.
Applicants must have:
• Three to five years’ experience in an HR generalist, advisory or management role
• Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field
• Sound knowledge of employment legislation, the SCHADS Award, National Employment Standards and WHS requirements
• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations
• The ability to manage sensitive workplace matters with professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
• The ability to work respectfully and effectively within an Aboriginal community-controlled and culturally diverse environment
• A current Working with Children Check
• A current National Police Clearance
• A current driver’s licence
Experience working within an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation or community services environment, and experience supporting workplace investigations and complex employee relations matters, would be highly regarded.

Receptionist / Executive Assistant to the CEO
Are you organised, approachable and looking for a varied role where you can support the day-to-day work of a community-controlled organisation?
KWAC is looking for a Receptionist / Executive Assistant to provide a welcoming first point of contact for community members, visitors and service providers, while providing organised and confidential administrative support to our CEO.
The role includes coordinating meetings and diaries, preparing agendas and minutes, assisting with correspondence, managing records, supporting travel arrangements, responding to phone and email enquiries, and helping keep reception and shared spaces running smoothly.
This is a full-time position based in Kununurra, classified at SCHADS Award Level 3.

We’re looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills who can manage competing priorities, work with discretion and confidentiality, and communicate professionally with staff, community members and external stakeholders. Previous experience in reception, administration or supporting a CEO or senior manager would be highly regarded.

Youth Worker – Kununurra Youth Night Space
Are you passionate about supporting young people and creating safe, positive and engaging opportunities for them at night?
Youth Workers will work directly with young people attending the Kununurra Youth Night Space (KYNS), encouraging participation in activities, building trusted relationships and supporting young people to make safe and positive choices.
You will work alongside the Youth Team Leader and other Youth Workers to deliver activities, connect young people with Country, culture and community, and support access to education, training, community services and other positive pathways.
These are casual positions based in Kununurra, working 64 hours per fortnight and classified at SCHADS Award Level 2.3. These roles involve regular night-shift work in accordance with the KYNS roster.

We’re looking for people with experience working with young people in youth work, community services, education, sport, recreation or a similar setting. You will need to build respectful relationships, deliver activities safely and understand the factors affecting youth engagement and wellbeing in remote Aboriginal communities.
Qualifications in a related field, knowledge of local services and experience working in Kununurra or another remote community would be highly regarded.

Sober Up Shelter Carer
Are you a caring and reliable person who would like to join the team at the Moongoong Dawang Sober Up Shelter?
Our Carers provide safe, respectful and culturally appropriate support to people affected by alcohol and other substances. The role includes supporting client wellbeing, preparing meals and refreshments, completing client records and helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
This is a casual position based in Kununurra, classified at SCHADS Award Level 2.1.

Experience in community services, health, aged care, homelessness, alcohol and other drug services, or a similar support role would be highly regarded.

Children are Learning (CaL) Outreach Worker
Are you passionate about walking alongside Aboriginal children, young people and their families, supporting school attendance and helping create stronger educational outcomes?
This is a relationship-based role where you’ll work alongside families, schools and other service providers to identify barriers to attendance, develop practical solutions and support children to engage in learning. Grounded in trust, culture and community, this role makes a real difference in the lives of local families.
This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 7:30am-3:30pm based in Kununurra, classified at SCHADS Award Level 3.1.
